NEXT TOUR: SEPTEMBER 15 - 22, 2012
Each trip is a unique adventure, but here is the itinerary from our most recent trip.
Saturday
Everyone should arrive by 4:00 on this day unless otherwise arranged. We will check into Villa Luciana around 4:00.
Settle in and unpack!
7:30 - Dinner will be served at Villa in the dining room or outside in the garden if weather permits.
Sunday
8:00-9:00 - Breakfast served in Dining Room
Discussion of following week and any housekeeping issues
10:00 - Sunday Drive We will take a drive in the countryside, up into the beautiful hills nearby, stopping at local sites and towns. Around 1:00 we will stop for a leisurely lunch at a small trattoria.
5:00 - Cooking Class at Villa with Carla
Each cooking experience with Carla is unique and menus will be provided the day of the class.
8:30 - Sit down to a wonderful dinner, 'the fruits of our labor'! Wine and dessert will also be included.
Monday
6:30 - Breakfast served in dining room
7:30 - Depart for Cinque Terre
8:30 - Catch Ferry to the small town of Cinque Terre
Spend day exploring each town along these beautiful seaside cliffs.
6:00 - Return to Villa
8:00 - Dinner
Tuesday
8:00-9:00 - Breakfast
9:00 - Depart for Lucca
Spend morning exploring the beautiful walled city of Lucca. Take a stroll around the park like wall or enjoy shopping in the center of the city. You will be on your own for lunch.
3:00 - Leave Lucca and return to Villa
8:30pm - Leave Villa and drive to a local Osteria for a causal dinner.
Wednesday
7:30-8:30 - Breakfast served
8:30 - Depart for Florence!
- Stop at Piazzale San Michelangelo to take in the fabulous view of Florence.
- Then on to Florence for a guided tour of some of the highlights of the city, to include a viewing of Michelangelo's David at the Acadamia.
- Lunch on your own
- Afternoon free to explore the city
7:00 - Depart Florence for the small hilltop town of Artimino where we will enjoy dinner at the famous restaurant Da Delfina.
Return to Villa late evening.
Thursday
8:00-9:00 - Breakfast served
9:00-12:00 - Free time
- Enjoy the sauna or steam room
- Take a walk
- Try the pool
12:00 - Leave Villa to enjoy wine tasting at the Montechiari Vineyard in nearby Monte Carlo (Italy)
4:00 - Pizza Making!!
6/7:00 - Eating Pizza!!
Friday
6:30-7:30 - Breakfast served
7:30 - Depart for Siena
- Short historical tour of Siena led by a local guide
- Time to explore on your own
2:00 - Leave for the medieval village of San Gimignano
4:30 - Depart for Villa
7:00 - Dinner served at Villa Luciana. Depending on weather conditions we may dine outside in the garden.
Saturday
10:30 - Check out of Villa
- Transfers to airport and train station
- BUON VIAGGIO!
